My Workout Routine {Collab w/ Britt Lives Life}

Hey friends! I’m here to share with you my workout routine! I’m doing this post in collaboration with my dear blogger friend, Brittany from Britt Lives Life! Head over to her blog to get some awesome tips on preparing for your workout. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

If you are from Britt Lives Life & are reading my blog for the first time, I want to extend a warm welcome! I hope that you stick around awhile and find my posts helpful to you.

When I first considered doing this type of post, immediately I began to question whether or not I could actually do it. I still have arms that jiggle, a stomach that is a far cry from a six pack, and broad shoulders that I would rather hide than accentuate. As I began to dig deeper, I realized that working out is about so much more than what you look like. It has provided me with an outlet for anxiety and a time to sort out my thoughts. I realized that no matter where I would be in my fitness journey, I would still feel “unqualified”. Regardless, I decided to take a leap of faith & go for it! My main goal for this post is to encourage someone out there who is afraid of working out because they think working out is only for those who are thin or are in “picture perfect” shape. I’m so far from picture perfect shape, but can share my heart with you today because I know where my worth comes from. No matter what size you are, what your weight is, what your insecurities are, you are beautifully & wonderfully made.

If you’ve read my recent blog posts, you know that for the past few months I’ve been recording my workouts in my fitness planner. This example workout routine is a compilation of what I’ve been doing for the past couple months! I always change up my workouts, but the basic structure stays the same.

*Depending on the week, I may switch out any of these workouts for an hour of yoga. One of the most important things is to listen to your body & what it needs. If a week is extra stressful, or I feel like I need more stretching, I will always change my workout schedule accordingly.

So here it is, friends! I hope that this post can provide some encouragement & hopefully give you some ideas if you’re considering starting a workout routine!

Love Always,

Ashley J.

  1. You have a pretty solid work out routine! When do you work out? Like at the same time every day, or does it change? I don’t really like working out in the morning but I get tired by night time. I’m not the best at sticking with a routine, lol. I have a gym buddy and we both have busy schedules so one day we go at 8 am, one day it’s 8 pm and it can be so hectic. I wish I enjoyed working out more. I think it wouldn’t be a chore if I liked it. I think I just need the right gym maybe.

      Thank you so much! Honestly, the time of my workout depends on what my schedule is for the week! I would love to be a super early gym goer but it tends to be either 9:30am or 6:00 at night! Having a good gym partner is so helpful! Depending on the week I will bring my husband along, and he’s good at pushing me when it comes to weights! Best of luck on your fitness journey & thank you so much for reading! 🙂

  2. Nice workout routine ! I like the variety in your week. I do heated yoga once a week..such a nice way to stretch the muscles out.

      Thank you! My workouts definitely vary from week to week and I always like to try out new things! Yoga is amazing & once I get better at it I would definitely love to try a hot yoga class! 🙂

    I really need to find some form of exercising that I like. It’s hard not to doubt ourselves but you are beautiful and we are perfect in His eyes!

      It took me awhile to find exercises that I found somewhat enjoyable! I absolutely hate the elliptical so most weeks I switch it out of one of the days for something I like better (yoga, going on a walk with a friend or biking!)
      & Amen to that sister! You are such a beautiful person & I’m so thankful for our friendship! 🙂 Thank you for your sweet comments and always encouraging me!

  5. Get it girl!!! My workout routine is pretty similar to yours, I try to do a long run on the weekend and rest on Sundays. Sunday Funday with some mimosas 🙂

      Thank you! 🙂 I definitely love having rest days & never really understood the importance of them until a couple of months ago! On my rest days I always like to take time to stretch & do something I enjoy that I don’t have time to do during the week 🙂
