Life Update | Let’s Catch Up!

Hey Friends! So I’ve definitely missed blogging, a lot. I want today’s post to be super casual, like pour a cup of coffee and hang out in our sweatpants kind of casual. If you’re curious as to where I’ve been and you haven’t seen my last Instagram post then hopefully this scatter-brained post will fill you in!

First things first, I want to thank every single person that has reached out to me, and has covered me in prayer. I’m overwhelmed by the love & support from you guys. So thank you.

I’m not sure that I’ve mentioned this already, but the hubs & I have moved! Not to a house yet, but still a bigger apartment that we are so thankful for. The moving process has been stressful & going through that while still grieving the loss of my friend has been hard, but I’m so thankful that we are finally beginning to settle in at our new place! Not to mention, I finally have an office space to call my own! I’ve already got a desk & everything. I’m super excited to have a dedicated space to work on my blog!

Over a month ago, I started my first “grown up” job! I’ve been working full time, so that naturally takes up the majority of my schedule. However, I really do love what I’m doing, even though I’m still adjusting to being the new girl in the office.

I decided to re-read The Best Yes by Lysa Terkhurst and let’s just say it’s the best decision I’ve made in a while. Especially with a busy schedule, it’s so hard to get caught up in your day to day routine. I definitely know of situations in the past where I’ve been so caught up in people pleasing, that I missed the mark on what God had in store for me. Reading this book for the second time has literally been life changing!

I’ve been learning the importance of just trusting in God. I’ve known for years that I have trouble in that area, but as of lately I’ve learned how quickly life can change. Life doesn’t always make sense, but at the end of the day we have to remember that He has got this. God gives us so many blessings- usually through people during the hardest of times. Take time today to thank Him for those individuals & let them know how much you care. You will never regret telling someone how much they mean to you.

Love Always,

Ashley J.

That’s so much to handle in a short amount of time. I hope you’ve had time to catch your breath! Congrats on the move and the new job. I moved and started a new job recently so I definitely know how you’re feeling. I’m the new girl too. I used to watch Oprah every day and something Anderson Cooper said on her show one time has stuck with me for a very long time, “Sometimes there isn;t any whys, there just is.” Sometimes God does things and we don’t know why, but it’s happened and we can’t change it or His plan for us. It’s hard to keep the faith, but I remind myself a million times a day that He has a plan and this is part of it, Continuing to keep you in my prayers and sending love and hugs your way!

Thank you so much Hannah! It definitely is a lot going on right now, but luckily I have had some time to relax 🙂 Being the new girl is hard at times. You’re trying to fit in at a new place where everyone pretty much has already made friends. It’s definitely reassuring to know that I’m not the only one! I hope that the adjustment starts to get easier for you 🙂 I absolutely love that quote, and there is so much truth in it! It’s amazing how God shows up in the toughest of situations! Thank you so much for your continued love & friendship!

  3. Glad you are doing well Ashley. Moving is always stressful and so is starting a new job but also exciting to have so many new changes in your new life.
How exciting to have your own office space!

Thank you so much! It’s so nice that the move is over & we can finally start making our place feel more home-y 🙂 Change is definitely exciting, and I’m so happy to have a work space to gradually make my own 🙂
